We will never ever come down

As a twenty-something college student, I believe that this is the period of my life offering the greatest opportunity to explore different types of music and truly find what genre moves you. What we listen to right now will shape our taste in music for the rest of our lives. Think about it. My parents and their friends love listening to Bruce Springsteen, The Doobie Brothers, and Crosby Stills and Nash because it was what they listened to in college. They were influenced by the music movement of the time and concerts that they attended when they were young. Right now, it is so easy to discover new artists and music thanks to the technology of our time. We can create playlists of thousands of songs and share it with our friends simply by downloading music onto a flash drive or sharing music on websites such as Dropbox.com. I find it interesting to learn about different people's taste in music and am always looking for the next best thing to listen to, so I thought that I might introduce you to what tunes I am currently obsessed with. For the better part of a year now, I have been consumed by the world of electronic music. It's almost all I listen to while driving, studying, partying, or just chilling. There's something about electronic dance music, or EDM, that never ceases to put me in a good mood or get my feet moving. A lot of you may think that electronic music really just consists of a series of beats and tones that have no real musical quality to it and that electronic music is "robot music," a term that my friends have so lovingly adopted for the music that I listen to. I'm not trying to shove my opinion and music taste down your throat, because I am aware that everyone has different tastes in music. I am simply sharing my love for this music in hopes that maybe one of you might enjoy it as much as I do. I plan to post a song along with information about the EDM culture.

My first song to post is a tune that is guaranteed to get you in a party mood regardless of your current mood. Dada Life is an insanely eccentric progressive house DJ/Producer duo from Sweden who believe that all you need for a good party is bananas, champagne, and sick beats. Thousands of people flock to their shows to take part of what looks like an enormous party and their radio show "Dada Land" features them mixing the hottest new tracks with their colorful commentary on the "Rules of Dada."
